Travel to Cuba

For nearly 40 years, Global Exchange has stood in solidarity with the people of Cuba, challenging the U.S. blockade, opposing punitive U.S. policies toward our island neighbor, and advocating for the freedom to travel. We believe that building relationships between people across borders is essential to challenging policies that divide us and creating a more just and peaceful world.

Global Exchange Reality Tours continues to organize delegations to Cuba under other authorized categories of travel. Our trips offer opportunities to learn directly from Cuban people and communities, explore the island’s history and culture, and understand the impact of U.S. policy on everyday life.

As of September 30, 2026, the former general authorization for group people-to-people educational travel is no longer available. Other categories of authorized travel remain in place, and all travel from the United States must comply with the applicable regulations of the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

For current information about authorized travel categories and applicable requirements, consult the OFAC Cuba Sanctions FAQs.
