It may be hard to believe, but the New Year is just a few months away. Why not celebrate this one abroad? This year, our 2016 New Year’s trips feature two special Reality Tours to Cuba and Ecuador. You’ll not only learn a lot, but have some fun along the way!

Cuba: New Year’s in Cuba from Havana to Santiago
December 28 – January 8
$3,450

Join us as we celebrate New Year’s in Cuba and the 57th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution! This People-to-People delegation will examine Cuba at a Crossroads via areas of the arts, culture, community, sustainability and history from yesterday to today. We will begin in Havana where we will ring in the New Year, and on New Year’s day we will then make our way to Santa Clara by way of Playa Giron (Bay of Pigs). Then, on to the enchanting walled city of Camaguey, to the beautiful mountains of the Sierra Maestra, and finally, the southern city of Santiago de Cuba!

Ecuador: Social and Environmental Justice in the Andes and the Amazon
December 28 – January 5
$1,800

Travel to the northern Amazon region to look at the damaging effects of oil and other extractive industries while you experience the breathtaking diversity and beauty of the Amazon rainforest. You will spend New Year’s Eve in the Yasuní region of the Amazon, and participate in a local celebration. Yasuní National Park is a UNESCO world biosphere reserve and what many scientists consider to be the most biologically diverse region on the entire planet. Meet with indigenous leaders and healers, and visit ecotourism projects that provide alternatives to extractive industries like oil and logging. Learn about the historic ongoing court-battle against Chevron and its toxic legacy of oil exploitation while seeing the oil pits for yourself. Back in Quito, discuss environmental, social, and economic rights with activists and leaders.

Start off your 2016 in a special way by participating in one of these two great travel experiences. We hope you can ring in the New Year abroad with us!
