(The conversation gets started about 5 mins in.)

As the COVID-19 pandemic upends life for hundreds of millions around the world, immigrant communities, their families, and especially those held in detention will be among the very hardest hit.

As we raise our voices here in the U.S. to defend our health, our communities, and the interdependent economy we all rely on, we must also prioritize the most vulnerable among us.

Ted Lewis and Marco Castillo, of Global Exchange,  talked with:

  • Jorge Torres, Northeast Director of the National Day Laborer Organizing Network; and
  • Becky Smith, social worker with Legal Services in New York City.

The online conversation addressed the stark vulnerabilities of those in communities already under attack — especially those without documents, refugees, asylum seekers, and detainees.
