They’re from Andes Gifts which supports a collective of mostly middle age women. Because of the Fair Trade standard the women make at least 3 times the regional average in wages. They work at their own pace in cooperatives, in clean, spacious and safe environments. Most of the accessories are made from an alpaca blend. The alpacas are treated humanely by their shepherds for their wool is very important to their livelihood.
