Our Closer Look South program focused on Colombia where disappointment in the peace process and deep, unaddressed inequalities have been the focus of recent large popular mobilizations.

This panel features an extraordinary panel of experts (all long-time allies and friends of Global Exchange) who have been intimately involved with Colombia’s national life and peace processes for many years.

David Huey represents the Kroc Institute in Colombia and is Coordinator of the Barometer Initiative which monitors the implementation of the peace agreement as part of the International Verification Component.

Gimena Sánchez-Garzoli directs the Andes program for the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA) and is their leading Colombia human rights advocate.
