Overview
People-to-People travel to Cuba remains one of the most powerful acts of resistance to a policy built on dehumanization.
Join Global Exchange in standing with the people of Cuba on an 8-day People-to-People Solidarity delegation, a moment of direct action in the face of escalating economic warfare against the Cuban people.
You will stand alongside Cuban workers, educators, healers, artists, and organizers, bearing witness to both the profound resilience of the Cuban people and the devastating human cost of decades of U.S. blockade. Through exchange with people from across Cuban society, you will return home carrying what you witnessed, with a responsibility to speak truth against the dangerous narratives coming out of Washington and a commitment to solidarity that does not end when the trip does.
Together, we will meet with economists confronting the lived realities of U.S. sanctions and hear directly how the blockade reaches into every corner of Cuban life, from food access to medicine to energy. We will visit a polyclinic and sit with healthcare professionals who cannot get the supplies they need to treat their patients, because the blockade blocks medicine from reaching over 100,000 people awaiting surgery, including 12,000 children, and denies cancer patients access to life-saving treatment. No gauze. No sutures. No IV bags. No antibiotics. The list goes on. We will sit with LGBTQIA+ advocates carrying forward a hard-won struggle for dignity and rights. We will learn from educators who lit one of the greatest literacy campaigns in human history and who continue to place education at the center of their revolutionary project.
We will move through community spaces alive with Afro-Cuban religion, music, dance, and visual art. We will walk the rows of an organic farm and understand food sovereignty as an act of resistance.
We will also be carrying humanitarian aid supplies as part of our delegation, each delegate filling bags and delivering them directly to the Cuban people. Global Exchange can support filling the bags for each delegate.
