Today, April 1, 2023 the Biden Administration announced that it will rescind Title 42 in May — finally putting an end to a policy that used COVID19 as a pretext to violate the human rights of hundreds-of-thousands of immigrant families and asylum seekers over the past two years.
To each of you who wrote, called, and signed your name to our petitions demanding the White House end Title 42, we thank you. This victory would not have been possible without your dedicated support and action.
While we welcome and celebrate the Biden Administration’s decision to put an end to the illegal and illegitimate Title 42 policy, we know the fight for an immigration policy that puts human rights, safety and dignity at the center is not over.
Our work to support migrants, refugees and asylum seekers continues.
The Biden Administration must take immediate action and build capacity to fairly and humanely process asylum applications at the U.S. border. And we call on Congress to pass an immigration policy that recognizes the contributions and rights of millions of hard working immigrants.
We will continue to support frontline shelters and legal aid organizations offering critical resources to migrants and refugees as they wait in Mexico for their cases to be heard. We invite you to join us and make a tax-deductible donation to the Migrant and Refugee Relief Fund.
Thank you for your commitment and support to this work and shared vision of an immigration policy that is centered on human rights and dignity for all.
