You can say:
Dear Senator,
As you were recently part of a Congressional delegation to Israel, I am appealing to you to condemn the Israeli military’s disproportionate use of force on Palestinian protesters in Gaza on Friday, March 30. Fifteen Palestinians were killed that day, and more have died since. Over 1,000 were injured. The toll is shocking, but premeditated. The Israeli army gave authorization in advance for its soldiers to open fire on the protestors. I call on you to condemn this violation of the right to protest, enshrined in international law, and to join international calls for a full investigation of the tragic events.
