Launch 1-02The March for Real Climate Leadership is just weeks away. And every day it’s getting clearer that when we show up in Governor Brown’s hometown of Oakland to demand he show real climate leadership and end fracking, we’ll be gathering in our largest numbers yet.

Confronting climate change means turning the rising tides, cutting dangerous pollution, and ending extreme forms of fossil fuel extraction — and it also means reinvesting in our broken infrastructure, building local energy solutions, and creating a more just, fair society.

Governor Brown has the power to do that — so we’re heading to Oakland to let Governor Jerry Brown know that if he won’t show real climate leadership and stand up to Big Oil, he won’t be leaving a climate legacy that anyone wants to remember.

We want to know if you are coming! RSVP here for the March for Real Climate Leadership on February 7th in Oakland.

Here are the details:

WHAT: The March for Real Climate Leadership: Our Water, Our Health, Our California
WHEN: 11:30 am, February 7th, 2015
WHERE: Frank Ogawa / Oscar Grant Plaza, 14th & Broadway, Oakland, CA

If you don’t live near Oakland, don’t worry – buses and rideshares are being organized across the state, or sign up to organize one from your community.IMG_0004

Following the community approval of a ban on fracking in Mendocino County in November and New York’s unprecedented ban on fracking last month, now is the time for us to show that we are stronger than ever here in California — that we know the health and safety of California’s communities is more important than oil company profits and we expect leaders like Governor Jerry Brown to act like it.

The March for Real Climate Leadership is a game-changing moment for the climate movement in California — so join in! Help us make sure that when we gather in Oakland to demand an end to business as usual for the oil and gas industry, it’ll be in numbers that Governor Brown can’t ignore.
