Speaking Event: Syria, the Arab Spring and U.S. Meddling
In 2011 Syrians rose up against a hated dictator with the hope of establishing a popular government free from outside domination. Foreign correspondent Reese Erlich recently returned from the region and offers his observations about US efforts to undercut the Arab Spring.
Freelance journalist Reese Erlich has covered the Middle East for over 25 years, including five trips to Syria. His reporting has appeared on NPR, Market Place Radio, CBC, and the San Francisco Chronicle. His 2012 radio documentary “Inside the Syrian Revolution” won top honors from the Society of Professional Journalists (Northern California).
