Politics on Tap: Travel to Cuba -- who can go, how and why?
Global Exchange: First Thursday: Politics on Tap presents:
Travel to Cuba -- who can go, how and why?
November 7th 7:00 pm
As the primary force behind the "Freedom to Travel" Campaign of the 1990's, Global Exchange has been in the forefront of efforts to end the unconstitutional restrictions on travel between the U.S. and Cuba. Through five different administrations from Reagan to Clinton to the Bushes and now Obama, Global Exchange has been involved in work to end the travel ban. It has staged and supported spectacular travel challenges, been through multiple licensing procedures including acquiring a Travel Service Provider's license and has arranged legal travel to Cuba through Global Exchange Reality Tours for tens of thousands of people from all over the U.S. for over twenty years.
Come and talk to Global Exchange's team of Cuba travel experts and get some answers. What does a travel ban actually mean? Discuss tourism and the tourist economy's impact on the island and of course enjoy delicious empanadas and beverages of your choice at Global Exchange's First Thursday -- Politics on Tap. November 7th at 7:00 pm.
There will be lots of time for questions and conversation!
This is part of a monthly series of Global Exchange get-togethers: Politics on Tap held at Café La Peña. Join us the 1st Thursday of each month for beer and other refreshments, and lots of good conversation.
