Meeting: Stop Keystone NVDA Planning Meeting

When & Where
518 Valencia St, at 16th St (Near 16th St/Mission BART)
San Francisco, CA 94110
March 30, 2013 - 1:00pm - 2:30pm

We invite all interested groups and individuals to join us in planning and coordinating future nonviolent direct actions to stop Keystone Tar Sands Pipeline, and to build a movement to stop climate change and build a better world. Join 350 Bay Area No Tar Sands campaign, Rising Tide SF, Idle No More and many other groups and people from across the region! This will also be place where people can join or form affinity groups to participate in future actions.

FORM A GROUP: We ask everyone interested in supporting or participating nonviolent direct action to form or join an "affinity group" of 5 to 25 people; involve people from your organization, friends, family, community, congregation, workplace, school, neighborhood, etc.

We have written letters, made phone calls, educated ourselves and others, demonstrated in the tens of thousands, participated in Idle No More flash mobs, and even been arrested at the White House as we push President Obama to stop the Keystone XL Tar Sands Pipeline. Yet we have no sign that Obama will walk his climate talk and reject the pipeline. A State Department environmental report, co-written by a Fossil Fuel Industry consultant indicates approval may be likely. It's time to organize ourselves to take nonviolent direct action in the communities where we live to raise the social and political cost for approving what NASA Scientist James Hansen calls "Game Over" for the climate.
