Films: Human Rights Watch Film Festival 2014

When & Where
Yerba Buena Center for the Arts
701 Mission St.
San Francisco, CA
April 10, 2014 (All day) - April 27, 2014 (All day)
Every year, for over a decade, we’ve presented a selection of powerful films with distinctive human rights themes. The power of film cannot be underestimated to challenge the viewer and promote calls to action. Rather than wallow in despair, the films in this program will put a human face on threats to individual freedom and dignity, and celebrate the ability of the human spirit and intellect to prevail. This year's festival features films that explore themes that include LGBT rights within the African American community, prejudice against albinos in Tanzania, the rights of women and girls in traditional cultures in Jordan and Senegal, and the experiences of prisoners in North Korea and the United States.
Price: $10 regular; $8 member, student, teacher, senior
